Pain In The Neck

I had a pretty good chase day today all things considered. My US-34 target verified quite nicely as I intercepted several storms along and just north of 34 between Loveland and Kersey. Unfortunately a pinched nerve in my neck ended my day and sent me home as the last storm I had been on went tornado warned near Ft. Morgan with softball sized hail reports. The agonizing pain just became too much and I had to call it. No tornado reports out of the FoMo storm, but I would've loved to have seen that hail! Below are a couple videos from the Loveland hailstorm and the Windsor post-storm street flooding.

I sent out two hail reports via Spotter Network, one from I-25 with 1-inch and the other just east of there with 1.25". Neither report made it into the log, nor was the storm warned until it had moved well off into the Pawnee National Grasslands. Both reports were received, but NWS Boulder dropped the ball on this storm completely. I would later measure 1 inch hail in Severance long after the storm moved through, and again, the warning wasn't issued til after the storm was well passed the area.

Storms are still ongoing across the Greeley area where a flash flood warning is in effect until 2:45 this morning, so an active night for sure. Tomorrow looks to be a repeat of today with potential further south into the state, but it will be a moot point if I can't get out of bed. I'm lying in an awkward position with a heating pad on my neck hoping I can rid of this enough to where I can function. That trip home was excruciating, and I won't be much good tomorrow if I can't get rid of some of this pain.

With that said, I'm gonna try and get some rest and hope to wake up feeling a bit more mobile. Tomorrow's plans are well up in the air and it starts with my neck and will go from there.

Sorry your neck is hurting man ... trust me, I can sympathize. Try some ibuprofen and cold packs (NOT HEAT!!) If you have a pulled muscle or something pressing on your nerve, you'll want to get the swelling down.
